BIOVIEW SOLO OFFLINE STATION

The Solo™ is a stand-alone workstation that enables the users to analyze the results of any of the BioView Scanning Workstations. It has all the analysis tools, report generation features and archiving functions of the scanning workstations. The Solo™   is a powerful tool in the laboratory, which helps increase productivity, cooperation between experts and can be used as a training tool. Multiple offline workstations can be connected at different locations in the workspace allowing the end-user complete control of data processing, analysis and case reporting.

The BV-SOLO-WS includes:

  • Computer and Peripherals
  • Flat Display
  • Color Printer

Solo Features

Patient and Case Details:

The case details dialog box enables the user to add all patients and test details.  This information will appear in the final report.

Case and slide notes can also be added and will appear in the final report.

Classify screen:

Classify screen enables you to:

  • Review 4-108 targets at once depending on the size of the images chosen using the grid button.

Classify screen with 4 images. The arrow shows the “change display buttons”.

Classify screen with 108 images

  • In dual mode configuration view the morphology image and the FISH image of the same cell, or the immuno-stained and FISH image of the same cell.

The left image in each pair is of an APL (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia) myelocyte cell, and the right image shows the same cell with a translocation of chromosome 15 and 17 (one red, one green and one yellow signal).

  • View simultaneously images of the same cell using two different filters.

Voided urine cells probed with the UroVysion kit from Vysis Inc. The left image in each pair is using the gold filter, and the right image shows the same cell in the Aqua / orange / green filter.

Target Analysis Screen:

Target screen enable you to change the zoom, to scroll between the focus planes, to measure the size of the cells and signals, to measure the intensity of the color along a line, to enhance the signals and reduce the background and to add annotations to an image.

  • Measurement tool:

Draw a line across the area that you want to measure. The length of the line i.e. size of the cell will appear nearby it.

  • Line profile tool:

You can draw a line across the area that you want to analyze. A graph automatically appears in the window showing an analysis of the intensity of each color channel along the line. You receive information about channels that are currently selected.

The analysis revealed that the selected signal is a translocation (fusion), since there is an overlapping of the peaks of the red and green signals.

  • Annotation tool:

You can annotate the target in different sizes and colors.

A cell from voided urine sample labeled by FISH for chromosome 3, 7, 17 and 9p21.  The annotation tool was used to mark the specific signals.

  • Z-stack tool:

You can scroll through the images snapped in different focus planes using the Focus button.

Five different focus plans snapped in the aqua/orange/green filter, of the voided urine cell labeled with UroVysion probe, creates a combined image with all signals.

Results screen:

The Results window provides the following information and options:

  • A matrix showing a summary of the number of targets identified for each type of classification.
  • A pie chart showing the distribution of any classification selected in the matrix.
  • A link to the Classify window. When the link is used, the classification category subset selected, is viewed.

Report:

A report is automatically generated for each case that is saved. This report includes case details; scan details for each slide and special snapshots or charts that were sent to the report.

The report is available in either HTML or XML formats.

Research mode:

Bioview offers software that enables to sort and filter the cells based on some property  (e.g.. their area, intensity) in the fluorescent mode. This mode enable to show selected thumbnail in both the thumbnail view and the Excel view, and to export the Excel data to file.
